Cyprus is a nice place to visit on holiday because it has so much to offer. As an island, Cyprus is a mix of European culture and with much influence coming from Syria, Turkey and Lebanon. The Island is a bizarre blend of history from the East and European because of its geographic proximity but managed to have its own distinct profile.

Cyprus is considered as a modern country with an ancient history. Recent developments made it more attractive for holiday goers following its entry into the European Union. Whether you know Cyprus as the Island of Aphrodite or the Island of sin or fun, the richness of tourist spots on it brought great wealth to the island. Its stone villages, glitzy resorts, scented citrus groves and perfumed mountains are waiting to be discovered.

If you wish you soak under the sun, the best holiday beaches are found around Ayia Napa and Protaras. These sapphire seas allure water sports like water skiing and kite surfing. Boat trips are also available at the main resorts. But if you want to stay away from the city, you can move into the small villages of Akamas Peninsula and discover the heavenly golden beaches of the Karpas Peninsula.

Wonder around the stunning Troodos mountains with Mount Olympus at its peak is the place to work up some sweat. Or inhale the great citrus fragrance of the Morfou groves and walk the steps of the medieval stone castles with their wonderful island views. For nature lovers, the Akamas National Part is the ultimate display of unspoilt nature. Here you will witness how the treasured loggerhead turtles return to the magnificent Lara Bay every year to lay their eggs.

You don t want to go home without trying to hang out with Cypriots for a mezze. The mezze is a slow banquet of Cypriot delicacies such as grilled halloumi, dolmades and kleftiko, lamb slowly baked till it drops off the bone. You will surely enjoy this fine delicacy while enjoying the company happy Cypriots.

The nightlife of the Aphrodite Island is something worth the records. The buzzing neon lit scene in the central towns are captivating and you can also experience the cafe culture in Nicosia, Limassol and on Larnaca s mile long beachfront promenade. Beach party everyday in the golden shore of these fabulous resorts.

The odd mix of Asian and Mediterranean weather, cuisines and the affordable life style of Cyprus made it as a top destination for British. The quality of communication is also great and for many years, although the national language of the island is Greek, English is spoken almost everywhere with the exception of some remote villages.

Cyprus has made sure it caters for more sophisticated demands with widespread facilities for fishing, golf, cycling, sailing/yachting, swimming, nature treks, and water sports. They say a holiday vacation in the island of fun or sin has its own personal preferences. Some go there to experience the life like there is no tomorrow and to other, they visit it to discover what really lies within the skirts of Cyprus as an ancient country. For whatever reason, one thing is for sure.. Cyprus is a great island full of fun, adventure and culture.
