We normally associated Brazil with FIFA because they have really dominated the soccer world for more than a decade now but Brazil has many more sports that make Brazil one of the best sports loving country. Situated on the eastern side of South America, Brazil is the largest country in South America that has not only dominated the sports world but is also growing into one of the economically powerful nations in the world. The country has developed itself very quickly and has become one of the important tourism landmarks where millions of people come from all over the places to watch the annual parade in Rio de Janerio. Since Brazil is on the eastern side of the South American continent it has a vast coastal area and therefore it is one of the important places for those who love surfing. Area wise Brazil is the fifth largest country in the world and more than twenty thousand square miles of coastal area. To make it a better place for tourism, Brazil has a normal tropical climate which makes it more convenient for the beach lovers and surfers as well. Many of the surfers who are not from Brazil often have a misconception that waves in Brazil are not very high but you will find out that you are wrong when you actually take your surfboard and venture into the blue sea.
If you are towards the north side of the country you can go to Amapa and find Pororoca spot which is considered to be the best surf spot for experienced surfers. Just south of Amapa is Maranhao which is one of the north eastern states in Brazil, here you will find many surf spots like Ponta de Areia, Olho da Agua and Travosa which are suitable surf spots for all kinds of surfers. You will find that many beaches and surf spots in Maranhao have reggae music playing on so you can surf the waves while the music is playing to keep your tempo going. Ceara is another good location where you can surf when you are near Maranhao; Ceara has many surf spots like Paracuru, Iracema, Futuro, Jurema, Titanzhino, Prainha, Morro, Branco and Tibau. The surfing here is considered very good and all types of surfers can bring on their surfboards here to explore the waves.
Rio Grande de Norte is just south of Ceara and is one of the most beautiful beaches in Brazil where all kinds of surfers can surf. Some of the important surf points here are Baia Formosa, Cacimbinhas, Lajao, Madeiro, Pipa, Ponta Negra, Saji and Urtigas Reef. If you are in Rio de Janerio than you will find tons and tons of surf spots that will keep you busy throughout the day. Surf spots like Baixio, Barra de Guaratiba, Pier, Praia da Macumba are few of the places that have been rated as top places to surf when you are in Rio, but since they are popular they are crowded as well.
