Did you and your family make a list of family vacation ideas? Have you combed through that list and decided that Jamaica is one of the best family vacation destinations? If so, you are not alone. Most travelers mistakenly believe that Jamaica is the perfect destination for romantic getaways. Yes, it is, but there is much more. The island also makes for the best family vacations ever!

Okay, you have now decided that you want to travel to Jamaica for a family vacation. What comes next? Making your travel arrangements. Before doing so, please continue reading on for a list of dos and don?ts. This detailed list will simplify the process of planning a fun, but occasionally stressful to plan family vacation.

Do examine all inclusive resorts. Like any other popular vacation destination, you have a wide range of overnight accommodations. You can opt for hotels, vacation resorts, vacation rentals, and all inclusive resorts. Examine them all if you wish, but you will be drawn to all inclusive resorts. These Jamaica resorts not only include the cost of your room, but food, drinks, tips, and some forms of entertainment.

Don?t be turned off by the cost of all inclusive resorts. If this is your first time booking an all inclusive vacation, the cost may be a turn off at first. The numbers will seem high. As previously stated, this one travel arrangement includes the cost of some entertainment, room, food, drinks, and tips. If you estimate the cost of your food, drinks, tips, entertainment, and room, you will see the potential to save money. When comparing each component of an all inclusive travel package individually, most first time travelers are amazed with the money saved.

Do consider the age of your children. Although Jamaica is one of the best family vacation destinations, you will find a few restrictions with resorts. Some resorts on the island are classified as adult resorts. These resorts do not accommodate children under the age of 14, 16, or 18. If you are traveling with children, be sure to examine each resort and their age restriction. Automatically eliminate the resorts that cater to adults only. Luckily, there are still many resorts on the island of Jamaica that welcome children of all ages with open arms.

Don?t discount family resorts. As previously stated, some Jamaica resorts have age restrictions. On the other hand, you will find resorts that cater to families like yours. These resorts are classified as family resorts. There are also resorts where individuals of all ages are welcome. Unfortunately, when it comes to family resorts, many individuals automatically think of small children. If you are traveling with a teenager, family resorts can still accommodate them. Most have planned activities for children of all ages, game rooms, and more.

Do choose a resort with inclusions, facilities, and services your entire family can benefit from. As previously stated, some family resorts have game rooms for teenagers. If you are traveling with a small child, a kid sized swimming pool or a childcare service will come in handy. Before making your reservations, compare resorts and their inclusions. Choose the resort that is perfect for your family. To do so, you must closely examine what is included and available.

Do consider all inclusive travel packages that include airfare. If you book a stay at an inclusive resort, airfare is usually optional. You can make the reservations separately. With that said, there are a number of benefits to combining the two. The greatest benefit is the simplicity. One travel arrangement not only pays for your food, drinks, room, tips, and some forms of entertainment, but airfare too! It doesn?t get much easier than that.

Don?t choose the first flight you see. Whether you book your airline reservations separately or together in a travel package, you should have options. Large and well known airports typically have five flights to choose from. Since you are traveling with children, opt for the flight that will get you there the quickest. Your children will be excited about their upcoming Jamaica family vacation. No one, especially your children, wants to wait in an airport for a four hour layover.

By keeping the above mentioned dos and don?ts in mind, you are sure to have one of the best family vacation ever!
