Dwarka is considered as one of the oldest cities in India. It is a very interesting place to visit. You can get to see here many temples and festivals celebrated year round.

Dwarka is also called Dvaraka by the locals. It is a municipality and a city in the district of Jamnagar within Gujarat in India. Dvaraka is a Sanscrit word meaning “the city of Dwaraka” or Dwarka for short. In Sanskrit literature, it is called Dwarawati.

The city is rated the most ancient city in India. It is a legendary place for said to be the dwelling place of Krishna, India’s lord. According to stories, this city was submerged in the sea for six times. Dwarka today is considered the seventh city built in the area.

There are a lot of festivals celebrated here the whole year round. Each festival is a celebration or commemoration of a particular icon that the Indians love very well. The Sevas is solely dedicated to the Lord Dwaraknath. The locals dress differently during this time. The Darshan include Mangala, Shringar, Rajbhoj and Gval and Uthapan, Sandhya Aarati, Bhog, Hindola and Shayan.

Dwarka is also mentioned in the Harivansha, Mahabharata, Skanda Puruna, Vishnu Purana and the Bhagavata Puruna. The story has it that the city of Dwarka is situated near the new city of Dwarka but it was deserted and was sunken into the sea.

Dwarka is truly a rich and exciting city that many visitors want to go here to experience a unique Indian culture. They would need temporary lodging and it is not difficult to find that in Dwarka. These hotels offer very competitive rates.

One of the most popular hotels in the city is the Hotel City Palace. It is a 5 star hotel with a very homely comfort and an eco friendly atmosphere. It is considered as the most luxurious accommodation in the area. The hotel is just a short distance away from the bus stand, Dwarkadish Temple and many shopping centers. Its rooms are spacious, and you can choose between an air conditioned and non air conditioned room.

Some of the hotel services include 24 hours room service, music, telephone line, fax and laundry services. They also have multi channel colored TVs and a lift comfort. They have a generator so as not to interrupt power supply in case of sudden power outages.

There are dining options inside and some serve Chinese food. They also have a doctor on call in cases of emergencies or for immediate consultations. Lastly, there is a quick family service for every guest. This hotel can make you comfortable and relaxed you need throughout your stay in Dwarka.

Another hotel is the Guruprerna Hotel. It is relatively old but still looks like new. It is in fact one of the trusted and most favorite hotels around. The hotel front has spaces allotted for car parking and an area dedicated as children’s playground. The rooms are all spacious and comfortable. Like the Hotel City Palace, the Guruprerna Hotel is just a short distance away from the temples, shopping centers and other tourist attractions.
