There are many temples located in Faribabad. The attractions and sites to see here lure many tourists every year.

Faridabad is a part of India. It is primarily a Buddhist city with many beautiful temples to see. Tourists flock to Faridabad to take wonderful photographs, enjoy the magnificent structures, immerse themselves in the Indian culture, and learn their culture and lifestyle.

Below are some of the most famous temples that can be found in Faridabad. It includes information, facts, history, background and highlights about each temple:

First on the list is the Shiva Temple. It can be found in the town of Trimbak. It is also considered as an ancient Hindu structure. Trimbak is in the district of Nashik in Maharashtra India. This temple is dedicated to their Lord Shiva, known as the third god of the Hindu trinity. It is located near the Godavari River which is also considered as the longest river of the peninsular India.

The Godavari River is also considered sacred in Hinduism. It starts from the mountains of Bramhagiri and it crosses over the sea near Rajahmudry. Dadasaheb Phalke, a famous film maker and considered as the father of Indian cinema, was born here. Trimbakeshwar Shiva has one out of the twelve Jyotoirlingas and is deemed as a religious center. The Jyotirlinga located here has extraordinary features. It has three faces that represent Lord Vishnu, Lord Brahma and Lord Rudra.

Next on the list is the Akshardham. It is a complex Hindu temple found in Delhi India. It is also called “Swaminarayan Akshardham” or “Delhi Akshardham.” This complex exhibits ten thousand years of the traditional Hindu and Indian architecture, culture and spirituality. The building was moderated and inspired by Pramukh Swami Maharaj. He is the spiritual head of the “Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha”, having three thousand volunteers that are willing to help the seven thousand artisans construct the Akshardam.

Akshardham attracts about seventy percent of all the tourists visiting Delhi. It was officially opened last November 6, 2005. It is near the banks of the “Yamuna River” and it is adjacent to the “Commonwealth Games Village.” It is also a complex that features a large monument found in the center. It is crafted and entirely made of stone. It exhibits the life of Bhagwan Swaminarayan and also India’s colorful history.

There is also an IMAX feature as visual presentation of the temple’s history. There are large landscaped gardens and a musical fountain outside.

Apart from this, a 141 foot monument can be found at the center complex. It is 316 feet wide and 370 feet long. It is covered from top to bottom and has detailed carvings of fauna, flora, deities, musicians and dancers. It is designed according to the ancient Vedic texts also known as the “Sthapatya Shastra.” It features a mixture of architectural styles found across India. It is made and constructed from pink sandstones called Rajasthani as well as with some Italian Carrara marbles. It has no support from concrete or steel.

Last but not the least is the Lotus Temple. It is a place of worship and at the same time, a famous attraction in Delhi also. It serves as a Mother Temple for the subcontinent of India and was completed in the year 1986. It also won many architectural awards and was featured in hundreds of magazine and newspaper articles. As of now it is still an architectural masterpiece that amazes many tourists and visitors of the temple.
